This answers questions on the rules of dating in Christianity
The first rule in dating is the first rule in all of life: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30).
. A couple of youngins’ get to dating, and they want to “do it right.” They realize that God is concerned with every aspect of our lives, including our romantic involvements, so they’ve resolved to have a “Christian” dating relationship and sought guidance.
As Christians in dating relationships, we want to avoid hurting one another and dishonoring Christ by “defrauding” (see NASB translation of 1 Thessalonians 4:6) our brothers and sisters in Christ by implying — through word or action — a higher level of commitment to that person than we have made before God.
Today’s method of dating has resulted in people giving themselves away earlier and earlier and waiting to get married longer and longer
These are all important questions. But they need to be set in a bigger, biblical context.
Relationships are hard. Marriages and dating, friendships with church members, even relationships between parents and children.
